Business Watch Scheme Launch
Last Friday saw the launch of Tullamore & District Chamber of Commerce & An Garda Siochana Business Watch Scheme. The launch was held in the Offaly County Council’s Atrium in Aras an Chontae on Charleville road and was officially launched by Minister for Justice and Equality Charlie Flanagan.
Others in attendance included Superintendent Tom Mullarkey, Roger Guiney, Deputy President of Tullamore Chamber of Commerce, Charlie Flanagan TD Minister for Justice, Barry Cowen TD & Ann Starling President of Tullamore and District Chamber of Commerce, Seargeant Graham Kavanagh & others
Speaking at the Launch – Tullamore & District Chamber of Commerce’s president Ann Starling stated that ‘this scheme aims to make Tullamore a safer place for businesses and allow quick and efficient means of communication between business owners and an Garda Siochana regarding possible threats. This will increase response times which will ultimately increase prosecutions and lower business crime in the community.”
The new scheme has been very warmly welcomed by by both local and national government, and with a great response by local businesses alike.
